Day Trips
We offer a number of day trips for clients whether you are interested in landscape or wildlife photography, or would simply like to visit different habitats or participate in a guided nature walk. A packed lunch and drinks are provided on these days. Examples of the possible Day Trips are shown below (prices start from 150€ per person for a half day excursion). Please contact us using the form at the bottom of the page for more details regarding these day trips.
Vultures of the Gorges
A long day trip (overnight stay possible) to the Massif Central to see a wide range of bird life including several species of vulture, eagles, kites and much more. The places we will visit offer amazing views over wide gorges where vultures often circle very close. Griffon, Lammergeier, Black and Egyptian Vultures are all possible.
Orchids of the Lot Valley
A day visiting a variety of local orchid sites some of which can contain fifteen or more species in flower at once. The sites offer opportunities for wide angle and ‘in-landscape’ shots of orchids along with more conventional telephoto and macro images. A wide range of insects can also be observed and photographed during these trips. The most reliable time for this trip is in May, earlier or later visits can produce plenty of orchids but this depends on the weather conditions at the time.
Bastide Villages
A tour of a selection of picturesque local bastide villages and historic small towns taking in some of the best viewpoints for photography within and outside the settlements, along with surrounding landscapes and features such as windmills, vineyards and sunflower/poppy fields (depending on season).
Local Nature Walk
Take a walk out with us, either from the gite or to another local village, and participate in a walk to discover the wildlife of the Causses region. Throughout the seasons it is possible to identify a wide range of plant and insect species and we will take you to a number of different habitats including ponds and river settings.
